Program Overview
Kuwait Board of Prosthodontics is a 36 months postgraduate program that is organized by Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations. Interested dentists can apply through KIMS and they must successfully complete R2 exams (or equivalent) before enrolling into the program. The program is currently based in Aljahra Specialized Dental Center and up to 4 residents can be accepted every cycle. Throughout the program each resident is required to pass multiple exams and presentations to qualify for the final exit exam (R5). The academic year starts in October and ends in September during which residents will have to attend clinical and lab sessions. First year residents (R3) are obliged to attend the Basic Sciences course from October to December and successfully pass the exams to enter the clinical sessions in PG prosthodontics.Our department is comprised of highly qualified and experienced prosthodontists with a passion for mentoring the students throughout their residency. Emphasis will be placed on evidence based learning through seminars, lectures and systemised reading assignments on current and classic Prosthodontic literature. The significance of critical thinking and methods of critically appraising the dental literature will be stressed. Residents will be exposed to both conventional and digital dental approaches in order to be competent in all different levels.

Training highly competent Prosthodontists, with excellent professionalism, high clinical proficiency and comprehensive knowledge.
Building the residents’ ability to critically appraise scientific evidence and use it in their daily practice.
Develop the importance of lifelong learning in the residents to maintain their high standards after successfully completing the program.

Removable prosthesis indications, techniques and materials
Fixed prosthesis techniques and materials
Implant retained and supported prosthesis and techniques
Oral rehabilitation
Aesthetic dentistry
Biomaterials used in dentistry
Understanding of maxillofacial prosthesis
Understanding of masticatory apparatus and TMDS
Digital CAD/CAM dentistry.
Understanding Sleep disorders and its intervention.
