Dr. Fahad M. Alzoubi
BDS, MFD RCSI, MClinDent Endo, MEndo RCSEd, FDS, FIADT
Dr. Alzoubi obtained his BDS from The University of Manchester in 2008 and his Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2010. He then joined the MClinDent Endodontic program at King’s College London and graduated in 2014 with Merit, and was awarded Membership in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In 2020 Dr. Alzoubi was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh by virtue of holding a specialty Membership Diploma and Fellowship in Dental Surgery. In 2023, Dr. Alzoubi became a fellow of the International Association of Dental Traumatology. He was appointed Chair of Faculty of Dentistry at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations in October 2023. Alongside his academic commitments, he continues a part-time private practice as a consultant endodontist.

Kuwait Board of Endodontics Program Director
Dr. Samhan Alajmi
BDS, MFD, MSc, ABE (Diplomate), CAGS
Dr. Alajmi received his BDS from the University of Dundee in Scotland in 2008. He obtained the Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2010. In 2014, he completed his Endodontic specialty and Master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Alajmi also completed a fellowship in Dental Implants from Tufts University in 2015. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2015. He served as the assistant program director since 2019 and he was appointed program director in 2024. Dr Alajmi maintains a part-time private practice as a consultant endodontist.

Kuwait Board in Paediatric Dentistry Program Director
Dr. Anfal E. Faridoun
BMSc (Dent), BDM, MFDS (RCSI), D.Clin.Dent (Paed.Dent), MPaed Dent (RCSEng, RCSPGlasg, RCSEd)
Dr Faridoun earned her Bachelor of Medical Sciences in Dentistry from Kuwait University in 2005 and her Bachelor of Dental Medicine from Kuwait University in 2008. She obtained the Membership of Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Ireland in 2010. Dr Faridoun in 2013 received her Doctorate in Paediatric Dentistry from Leeds University in the United Kingdom. She was then awarded a Membership in Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow in the United Kingdom in 2014. Dr Faridoun obtained in 2018 a Diploma in Professional Arabic Literature Writing and Publishing from the Art College in Cairo University in Egypt. She is a certified Autism Specialist from the International Board of Credentialing and Counting Education Standards in the United States since 2022. Dr Faridoun obtained in 2022 a Diploma in Health Care Management and Quality from Gulf University of Science and Technology in Kuwait. She is currently working as the Program Director of the Kuwait Board in Paediatric Dentistry, Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialisations. In addition, she is the Head of the Paediatric Dentistry Unit in Farwaniya Specialised Dental Centre. Dr Faridoun is working as a part time Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry in private practice. Her special interests in the field of Paediatric Dentistry are behaviour management and endodontics in paediatric patients.

Kuwait Board of Orthodontics Program Director
Dr. Fawzi M. Alqatami
Dr. AlQatami is a consultant craniofacial orthodontist. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated as a valedictorian, the top of his class in 2007. He pursued his Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and Master of Science in Dentistry from Boston University in 2011. Following his residency, he completed a one-year clinical fellowship in Craniofacial and Special Care Orthodontics at New York University Langone Medical Center, Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Dr. AlQatami is a dual board certified orthodontist. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In 2019, Dr. Al-Qatami completed his second master of science degree in lingual orthodontics from Hannover Medical School in Germany. Currently, he is a clinical assistant professor at the orthodontic department at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. AlQatami is also an active member of the eastern component of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a group of elite orthodontists in Northern America that is by invitation only. Dr. AlQatami is serving a 5 year term as the program director for Kuwait Board of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations in the State of Kuwait.

Kuwait Board in Advanced General Dentistry Program Director
Dr. Alya Al-Refai
Dr. Al-Refai obtained her BDS from The University of Liverpool in 2003 and her Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MFDSRCSI) in 2007. She then joined the Kuwaiti Board in Advanced General Dentistry (KBAGD) Program. She was awarded KBAGD and Membership of General Dental Surgery of Royal College of Surgeons (MGDSRCSI) certificates in 2011. Dr. Al-Refai was a clinical tutor in the program since 2013. She was appointed the Program director of KBAGD (R3-R5) in 2023.

Kuwait Board of Periodontology Program Director
Dr. Ahmad N. Alsharrad
BMedSc, BDS, MFD RCSI, MS, SB-Perio
Dr. Ahmad Alsharrad obtained his BMedSc & BDS from Kuwait University in 2004 & 2007 respectively. In 2011, he obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Then he joined Riyadh Elm University in 2012 and graduated holding Master's Degree and Clinical Certificate with distinction in Periodontics in 2015. In 2015, Dr. Alsharrad joined Saudi Board program at Prince Sultan Military Medical City & at Ministry of Health. He was awarded Saudi Board Certificate in periodontics in 2017.

Kuwait Board in General Dentistry R1/R2 Program Director
Dr. Tasneem Alfarhan
BDS, MFDRCSI, MGDRCSI
Dr. Alfarhan obtained her BDS from Cairo University in 2001 and her Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2006. She then joined the AGD program in Kuwait, graduated in 2010, and was awarded the Membership in General Dental Surgery, MGDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2010. In 2017 Dr. Alfarhan was appointed program Director for the Kuwaiti Board of General Dentistry R1/R2 program.

Kuwait Board of Prosthodontics Program Director
Dr. Bahaa Alshawaf
BChD (DDS), MS, MFDS RCSI, FADPID, ABP (Diplomate), FRCDC
Dr Alshawaf was awarded his BChD in Dental Surgery from Leeds University in 2009. He gained the MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2010. By 2017 Dr Alshawaf completed his post graduate training in prosthodontics from Tufts University and he was awarded Dr. Wayne Lyn Prize in prosthodontics. During the same year he completed his Master of Science Degree from Tufts University. Following the completion of his postgraduate training, in 2018 Dr Alshawaf became a Diplomate fellow of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Thereafter; he was successfully awarded the Fellowship of Royal Collage of Dentists in Canada in Prosthodontics. By the end of 2018 he completed two fellowships, the first in Advanced Digital Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry, and the second was Dr. Gino Passamonti teaching fellowship by Tufts University. In 2023 Dr Alshawaf was appointed program director of Prosthodontics program in Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations. He maintains part-time private practice as a Senior Specialist Prosthodontist.

Kuwait Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Program Director
Dr. Yahya Alyahya
Dr.Al-Yahya is a Senior Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who is double qualified in Dentistry and Medicine. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University - Medical College of Virginia in 2006, where he graduated magna cum laude and received Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor’s Society Award. After Graduation, he completed his internship at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait and obtained Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2008. He then completed an internship at the Virginia Commonwealth University - Medical College of Virginia in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2010 and started his Combined OMFS/MD Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He received his Medical Degree in 2014 from UTHouston - McGovern Medical School and his OMFS Certificate in 2016. Dr.Al-Yahya Received his Diplomate status from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2018. He currently serves as the Head of OMFS Unit at the Jahra Dental Specialty Center. He was appointed program director of the Kuwait Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2024.
